CTB manufactured and supplied 2 electrical switchrooms and 1 control room for the Moolarben Coal Project (MCP) located 40kms north-east of Mudgee and 25kms east of Gulgong NSW.
The switchrooms were transported for fitout and installation to a regional electrical contractor and the custom designed control room was purpose manufactured to monitor the coal mining operations.
These transportable mining buildings were engineered to suit the Mudgee environment and the needs of the Moolarben coal mining operations.
To facilitate transport of the control room and electrical switchrooms, the RTA specifications were rigidly adhered to. The General Class 1 Oversize Notice 2007 provides an Operators Guide requirements relating to buildings in excess of normal dimensions and mass limits.
Design features of the electrical switchroom included:

• Logistics features
In December 2009 Moolarben Coal Operations gained a new owner, Yancoal Australia, (formerly known as Felix Resources Ltd) and started production in the first half of 2010. Coal was loaded onto trains in early May, 2010 and exported through Newcastle Port. Yancoal is part owner of Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG), which operates a new coal terminal at Newcastle Port.
